Upon completion of residency training, a neurologist may seek certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. To be eligible for certification, all applicants must:
1. possess an unrestricted state license to practice medicine
2. complete the required years of residency training in the United States
3. pass both a written and oral examination administered by the American
Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
